Growing up in a conservative environment, I faced immense pressure to conform to traditional masculine norms, making it challenging to embrace my true identity. The constant fear of rejection and losing my family's affection made coming out seem impossible. During my teenage years, I found solace in music by artists like Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, connecting more with femininity while struggling to relate to my peers. Realizing that living a false life was suffocating, I decided to embrace my true self despite the risks. In college, I faced bullying and harassment but took a stand by advocating for anti-bullying measures, which eventually stopped the abuse. This experience taught me the power of using my voice and the importance of living authentically. At PhonePe, I immediately felt a sense of belonging and support, which was different from my previous workplaces. The emphasis on diversity and inclusivity during the induction ceremony boosted my confidence. The 2024 Pride event further reassured me that PhonePe is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment. This inclusive atmosphere has allowed me to live openly and proudly, boosting my confidence and helping me grow personally. The organization's policies, initiatives, and support systems, such as gender-neutral restrooms and regular LGBT awareness training, have significantly contributed to my sense of security and empowerment. Living authentically at PhonePe has empowered me to thrive both personally and professionally, reaffirming the transformative power of true inclusivity!
