India’s Real Growth Stories are not just about numbers. It’s about hard work, deep roots, and real change. For Sitara Foods, which started in a small kitchen in Hyderabad in 2018, it’s a journey built on culture, community, and big dreams that now reach far beyond India.
Every MSME carries a story that’s uniquely Indian yet universally relevant. And platforms like PhonePe Payment Gateway support our growth with digital tools and visibility.
Sreekanth Bolla, CEO, Sitara Foods
Sitara Foods was started by two sisters who were homemakers, bringing back old family recipes. It didn’t begin as a business plan, but as a way to honour their grandmothers’ kitchens and the tastes they grew up with. What began with a few traditional Andhra pickles has now grown into a brand that shares the flavours of India with the world.
Bringing these old recipes to people’s tables today is both special and meaningful. Sitara Foods isn’t just selling pickles, they’re keeping a part of India’s food traditions alive. Each jar holds a bit of history, a familiar taste, and a link to our roots.

By staying true to authentic methods while making their products available across the world, Sitara Foods is making sure these flavours don’t fade away. They’re helping the next generation in India and abroad, discover the real taste of tradition.
The Team Behind Sitara
Sitara Foods is more than a brand. It’s a story of women finding strength and purpose. Today, they employ over 120 women, 73 who make the pickles and 51 others who help run the show.
Even during the pandemic, when everything slowed down, Sitara Foods stepped up. They cooked and shared over 24,000 meals with people in need, making sure no one around them went hungry and everyone who worked with them stayed supported.
Made in India, Loved Everywhere
Sitara Foods’ journey has earned powerful recognition. They’re the only Indian MSME to be featured by Google globally and were honoured as a “Small Business Hero.” They also received the title of “Best Food Startup” at the Women Entrepreneurship 2022 event.
Referencing Sitara Foods’ role in building the future of India’s economy, CEO says:
Small businesses like ours are the real backbone of India’s economy. We create local employment, empower rural communities, and showcase India’s diversity in global markets.

Today, Sitara Foods stands at the intersection of tradition and innovation. From the memories of grandma’s kitchen to becoming a global brand, their journey proves that real growth happens beyond boardrooms. It’s the kind of growth that empowers people, uplifts communities, and proudly takes India to the world.
This is India’s Real Growth Story.
