PhonePe sees a 150% growth in transactions during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days

Bangalore, October 22nd, 2018: PhonePe India’s leading digital payments platform today announced that it saw a 150% growth in transactions during the recently concluded Big Billion Days sale.

The PhonePe platform processed transactions worth Rs.100 crore in a single day with over 50 transactions per second at peak. UPI payments saw phenomenal growth and accounted for over 55% of all payments done on the platform during The Big Billion Days.

The PhonePe app has seen rapid acceptance across all cities in India. This includes metros and all tier 2 and tier 3 locations as well. Users from all 29 states and 7 Union territories transacted on the PhonePe app during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days this year.

Commenting on PhonePe’s performance Karthik Raghupathy, Head of Strategy and Planning said, ”This year’s Big Billion Days were larger both in value and the number of transactions we processed on the PhonePe platform. We saw a 25x jump in our transactions in a single day and despite unprecedented traffic on the app millions of shoppers could pay, transact and get instant cashbacks without any delays.”
