PhonePe and Mother Dairy partner to drive the largest number of UPI transactions in the offline merchant ecosystem in India

India, October 15th, 2018: PhonePe, India’s leading digital payments platform, recently partnered with Mother Dairy, India’s leading national dairy brand, to facilitate convenient, fast and secure payments through the PhonePe platform. Within a short span of two months, Mother Dairy has been driving the largest number of UPI transactions in India amongst offline merchants via PhonePe. Along with UPI, Mother Dairy customers can also use their credit/ debit cards through PhonePe to make payments at Mother Dairy outlets.  

Speaking on the partnership, Yuvraj Singh Shekhawat, Head of Offline Organized Business, PhonePe said, “Our partnership with Mother Dairy has proved to be a huge testimony to the rapid growth and acceptance of UPI in the country. Additionally, as a launch offer, PhonePe is offering Flat 50% cashback at Mother Dairy booths with Upto Rs 50 on the first transaction and Rs 10 on all subsequent transactions. The offer is now available in Nagpur, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Delhi regions. PhonePe and Mother Dairy aim to gradually grow their UPI transactions and use-case scenarios.

PhonePe’s offline presence has been rapidly growing and it is now accepted as a payment option in over three lakh offline outlets including national chains across 550 towns. PhonePe is contributing between 6-10% of Non-Cash Transactions at key food, grocery and healthcare merchants. Some of PhonePe’s key offline partners include McDonald’s, Metro Cash & Carry, IOCL, KFC, Apollo Pharmacy, HPCL, MedPlus, Mumbai Metro, Cafe Coffee Day, Spencer’s, Barista, Levi’s, Peter England, VLCC, IOCL, HPCL, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Pantaloons, and others.
