Grow Billion Trees Achieves Steady Growth with PhonePe PG

Founded by army veterans in Pune, Grow Billion Trees is a global initiative dedicated to planting and protecting billions of trees to fight climate change, improve the environment, and help local communities. Grow Billion Trees aims to plant 100 crore trees annually, reaching the goal of 1 billion trees by 2030.

Recognising the need for reliable payment solutions, Grow Billion Trees partnered with PhonePe PG. This collaboration aimed to enhance payment success rates and foster trust among their diverse customer base.

The Challenge: Redefining User Experience

Despite having other payment gateways, Grow Billion Trees faced challenges with constant downtime which led to payment failures, impacting user experience.

Furthermore, they needed help with a long & tedious checkout process. The existing payment gateway failed to provide checkout optimization capabilities, resulting in the user dropping off without completing the intended action.

Grow Billion Trees partnered with PhonePe Payment Gateway to leverage PhonePe’s leadership in the UPI space. 

The decision to integrate PhonePe Payment Gateway was driven by its easy onboarding process, simplified setup with low-code implementation, and reliable support infrastructure.

For every tree planted, Grow Billion Trees provides users with the geotechnical location of the forest where the tree has been planted, along with certificates containing all the details regarding the tree plantation. These certificates include the geotechnical details, the NFT certificate, and a greeting card.

The Solution: Transforming Payments with PhonePe PG

By integrating with PhonePe Payment Gateway, Grow Billion Trees significantly reduced downtime. Leveraging PhonePe’s proactive proactive downtime period detection for payment methods, Grow Billion Trees could avoid transaction failures due to low success probabilities, thus significantly improving their success rates. 

Additionally, Grow Billion Trees significantly reduced drop-offs by utilising PhonePe PG’s Fast Forward feature, allowing customers to skip multiple payment steps for faster transactions and higher success rates.

At first, we kept PhonePe PG as a backup. However, we realized that PhonePe PG was performing 20% better than other gateways, prompting us to switch PhonePe to our primary payment gateway. Since then, we have seen consistent growth, and the overall user experience has improved.
